BJP government will fall after June 1 voting, claims Abhishek Banerjee
Former India opener and mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, Gautam Gambhir, expressed his delight as he witnessed a heartwarming gesture from Virat Kohli during India's World Cup 2023 match against Afghanistan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.
The two players, who had been involved in an ugly spat during the IPL, buried the hatchet with a warm embrace on the field. Virat Kohli and Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq shared an emotional moment, with Kohli patting Naveen on the back during India's chase. Kohli also turned to the crowd, signaling to his home ground fans to stop trolling Naveen, demonstrating sportsmanship and unity on the field.
During Afghanistan's innings, the crowd chanted 'Kohli, Kohli' when Naveen came out to bat, echoing a similar incident at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala during Afghanistan's match against Bangladesh on October 7. After India's 8-wicket win, Naveen and Kohli were seen chatting with smiles, seemingly moving past the controversy that had dominated headlines earlier in the IPL.
Gambhir praised Kohli's gesture and emphasized the importance of supporting and not criticizing players. He urged Indian crowds to be more considerate and become better brand ambassadors, ensuring visiting players take back positive memories.
